Ethan Tucker’s trademark sound of acoustic roots and layered electric guitars, combined with an unmistakable soulful and bluesy vocal, is a recipe that has garnered attention from some of his most popular contemporaries, as well as bonafide legends.
Born in Olympia, WA, Ethan has performed around the world, touring nationally with Jimmy Cliff, Buddy Guy, and The Wailers, as well as national support slots with musical peers Slightly Stoopid, G.Love and Special Sauce and many others. He has performed at premiere national festivals such as Bottle Rock, Cali Vibes Fest, California Roots, Kaboo, Hangout, and Slightly Stoopid’s Mexico destination event Closer To The Sun. In addition, he has been invited to perform at notable film festivals including Sundance, Sun Valley and Mill Valley Film Festivals. Ethan has also garnered international acclaim, performing at M4M Festival in Poland, as well as performing in Ireland, Switzerland, Belgium, France, Italy, Germany, England and more.
Early in his career, Ethan was briefly signed to Capitol Records, an experience that gave him industry insight and helped shape his artistic path. In 2015, Ethan released his breakout album Misunderstood on Stoopid Records / Controlled Substance Sound Labs. Produced by Mario Caldato Jr. (Beastie Boys, Jack Johnson, G. Love), the album features special guests Money Mark, Norwood Fisher (Fishbone), and Thomas Pridgen (Mars Volta). Misunderstood quickly became a fan favorite, highlighting Ethan’s signature combination of groove, raw emotion, and soulfulness.
In 2016, Ethan took his career to another level when he auditioned for NBC’s “The Voice” and received two chair turns by both Adam Levine and Blake Shelton. Ethan performed live on the show twice, representing on “Team Blake,” and showcasing a reggae rendition of The Police’s “Roxanne,” and “Gravity” by John Mayer in the Battle Rounds.
Ethan has remained a relentless performer and recording artist. His acoustic sessions with Sugarshack Sessions and California Roots’ Jam In The Van are long-time fan favorites on YouTube. In early 2025, his song “High Time” found a new audience after being featured in the Netflix series Ransom Canyon (Episode 3). He followed that with the February 2025 release of “Fly Back Home.”
In July 2025, Ethan released “Bad Man (feat. Sean The Shaman),” a track that has since earned heavy rotation on multiple radio stations, expanding his reach into new markets and showcasing a bold evolution of his sound.
Ethan is currently finishing his upcoming 2026 studio album, which promises to further explore the soulfulness and dynamic songwriting that define his artistic identity.
